I slid off the gem-encrusted back of the alien, wincing at my newly acquired broken ribs, and curled up into a ball. I just didn't get any power. I was in a sort starvation induced stasis. You see, for me, electricity is my life. It is my bread, my water, and my air. Without it, I cannot function. When it reactivated, I found that a single portal had opened into my partition. Needless to say, I made for it, not caring where it led, so long as it led away. I had taken a few picture files with me. Sort of a static cling I guess.
What I got, instead of my usual look at the inside of a computer, was a fair sight better. A cobblestone wall surrounded the garden. Two exits in either direction.&
